Yes we have heard we will get phone calls. Nobody reporting yet but we have heard it's coming over next week.

Honestly, a lot of the people who were hired off the street into salaried management positions were worthless. No sympathy from the veterans.
In Fry's district five everyone has had their meetings in a hotel whether being retained or terminated. This goes for managers, co managers, and coordinators. Haven't heard of a coordinator being terminated as yet. Corporate seems to find a nice place to land these people. Usually it's a place that has been created by terminating a co manager. Jus' sayin'
Has anyone heard.
The keepers are being called to the District office..
But the departed are having interviews at hotels...
Any truth here
My interview is tomorrow at a hotel..
I mean if that is the case why even go...
Heard today that our divison meat coordinator..been with Frys 40 years.. was relieved of his duties but offered a front end manager position..
WTH..
Corporate created these extra assistant manager positions about five or six years ago. Each store has an operations assistant, merchandising assistant, and a human resources assistant. The company then had to fill these positions with people who wouldn't normally have applied for a salaried manager position but were encouraged to move up in the company by their superiors with promises of more pay and bonuses. This is how former store greeters and department managers were pushed up the corporate ladder even though they weren't qualified. Did I mention people hired off the street into these positions.
Now, when it's time to cut these positions, which we all knew to be unnecessary, these people, who would have been happy to just be a hourly paid department manager are out on the street looking for work.
So, we lost some great managers yesterday and now, Wednesday, a few more managers will learn their fate. Did I mention there is another wave of "meetings" on Thursday. It's a little bit like water torture waiting to find out if you have a job or not. If corporate planned on keeping them then they should give them a phone call and tell them. Why put them through this anxiety if they are the people you're retaining.
So, there are a few of these managers who were unhappy and weren't afraid to state so who are now getting what they asked for. Yes, there are some managers who are underachieving and they can be identified by everyone.
The bottom line is this: The company only owes you a paycheck for quality work and if you stay with them long enough and make top pay they will only force you out because they can't afford you. It's works the same way in the National Football League only in the world of store managers you have to find another job at age 55 when no one either wants or needs you. Max out your 401K when you're young for you will need it earlier than you may wish to draw it out.
Was in the store I work this morning having just got back from vacation. Heard that the layoffs were starting today. The people being effected are all district and division staff and store management. I have been around long enough to have seen this movie before. Kroger/Frys loads up on way too much help with district and division staff... lot of labor coming from the back end. When things start getting tight and the stock is down they start cutting the fat. Can’t cut store personnel, we are already pushed to the limit. In one way it’s sad but honestly many of these people didn’t move up the ladder on merit... yes a few did.
Confirmed today that managers are being set up for meetings/interviews beginning Wednesday...15 minutes..
Interesting in each store they are scheduled different times and different days...
So is it.
First interviews are for the keepers..2nd demoted..the following week interviews for the departed...
Just thinking out loud.
I have heard lucrative severance packages will be offered..but if you discuss your particular circumstances. You will lose it.
How is that saving money..
I am all for these a–holes..
Paying out big..but kind of defeats their story..
Glad i left Kroger..2 years ago and trust me never looked back..
I have to say..KROGER S—S
From what it once was..
Maybe the company needs to look at all of the things that are a problem in the stores causing loss of sales. There could be many problems in this area. Then maybe they wouldn't have to lay off people? Get back to the basics of running a grocery store; customers service with a body there not a machine that people cheat on. Security watching the theft rings of d–ggies and refunds they do....Protect the assets ( Business 101). There are to many annoying digital downloads and ad issues that frustrates us customers. I just don't buy it!
Thursday Oct.10th Layoffs in Phoenix for all Fry's AZ stores. It's gonna be held at Tolleson office's. Fry's employee motto is FEED THE HUMAN SPIRIT but they should change it to , K–l THE HUMAN SPIRIT!!!! Long live the corporate oligarchs and they're Bottom line!
It's sick how Rodney mc millions sit back with his new raise and large Bonus while we are working our a– off for the Kroger company. Frys will know their fate next week.
All subsidiaries are affected the same
