Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

What are the pros and cons of Stepping down to an hourly associate from management.

So for some context I've been with the company for let's say 5 years now. Been a assistant front end pic for well over 2 years. Not to turn it into a sh– post but let's just go ahead and say I've had it. I was already topped out as a cashier so if I choose to step down they have to pay me that same rate correct?

What about my store because my commute is insanely good and I'm sure they can choose to transfer me anywhere they damn well please.

Has anyone else ever done this and how did the process go for you?

I understand that if you've been in a full time position of management for 2 or more years you are now guaranteed for life for full time no matter the position you're in, that's true right?

On the step down paper it gives you the option to request stores by number and positions so can I request the same store as customer service or pickup and how likely am I to get screwed over?

If I end up as a cashier with full time do I get added to the full time select a schedule and become above the part time people or do I pick my 40 hours once my spot in seniority comes up?

Thanks for any and all responses and any info you need I can answer.

It depends on your contract. For example the contract if we have someone step down, we put them wherever we can handle another full time associate. Go to your shop steward for more info.
