Honestly, this is already beyond ridiculous. How long can some of these stores operate with barely anything on their shelves? I can't imagine that they make even close to what they need to cover all the store-related expenses AND cover employee pay on top of that. What is Fry's Electronics' end goal here?

Forgot to add my speculation of Fry's end goal. My guess is that they are trying to clear out as many items without reducing prices or hiring a liquidation company which could be more expensive than just stringing remaining employees along. (Though I'm sure that some don't care too much and will simply collect unemployment while job hunting.)
My guess is that the top-level management already has a timeline in mind for their ultimate shutdown date. I can't think of a retailer ever being this barren of inventory due to months long "vendor issues" whilst tearing down shelving and selling non-core items like the aforementioned mattresses all of the sudden. There's mattress stores on every block in the US. Who the heck thinks of Fry's Electronics as the place to get those? LOL
How long can Fry's continue like this? People can only guess but I bet if you were to ask a random gambler wandering the Vegas store's floor to put the over/under between the end of the month and the end of the year. Black Friday would be a decent time but that's still about two months away. Few optimistic people would say after the first week of the new year.
Only the dumbest of dumdums would say never and believe the line of "new stock in 4-6 weeks due to changes in vendors." With new stock being electronics and not mattresses or Gatorade or other unimportant nonsense.
Most of us expect an official announcement of bankruptcy and liquidation soon.
I tried ordering from their website and it's very difficult to get things online. Orders cancel out, I wanted 3 different things but had to place 3 different and seperate orders, they all but one canceled. I don't get it.
New stock could be a single candy bar. Your statement is vague as all get out and carries no weight whatsoever considering official spokespeople and Store Managers already gave official answers of new stock as of over a week ago, which didn't happen in the way its being implied. This is the same answer 8 months ago, which is a joke of a continuing answer. You know what the definition of insanity is, right?
The company, so far, has accomplished the following, whether on purpose or from horrible, horrible managing.
- Caused normally profitable stores to now be in the negative, dragging down the company as a whole like several of the stores were already doing which they should have cut years ago.
- Ruined any credibility or reliability with expecting to find the most basic of electronic products in, ironically, an electronics store. Way to alienate the client base. Thumbs up with that.
- Gotten rid of or caused their best, and most knowledgeable employees to quit. Winning plan there. In fact, the business targeted its employees in most of its actions showing wanton disregard for any respect or intent to keep them.
- Directors have suddenly lost their jobs, district is about pointless and a money waste, and basically store managers and everyone dont know if their job or position will be there tomorrow everyone is clueless or being strung along with “New vendors coming soon”.
- Restructuring, by definition, implies you are rebuilding...something. The company is using the wrong word its called dissolving, because there is 0% reforming going on only destruction.
- More vendors are pulling out. Your statement dhoukd have said, “More known vendors cutting ties with Frys, more attempts to s—er vendors to do business with us.
I could go on and on, but unless your John or Randy Fry, who are either completely clueless on how to run a business or are intentionally going bankrupt, or your one of their two underlings right below them, your repeated mouth fed empty words.
We expect new stock in 4-6 weeks due to changes with our vendors. Expect an official announcement soon.
I was wondering the same thing...
