I worked at frito 30 years ago for five years - it s—ed back then. People would quit and walk off the job with the keys still in the ignition.
That was when we were:
Union
Free medical
$1,700 a year bonus based on just working there( I just got hired and received $1700)
No one gave you grief if you came back early- as long as the job was done.
I made the same pay now as twenty years ago
Everyone now gets the same pay- regardless of the route size.
I’ll take a month off and search for a job(not dsd)
I’ve had two,job offers with frito and schwans. I’ll take those as the last resort. They’ve been constantly
hiring 20 plus years because they are horrible jobs...

If Nestlé's management structure (or lack thereof) is any indication of what working similar vending DSD jobs are like, then to that proposition I will avow a resounding Hell to the NO! I would MUCH rather take the cut in pay and actually have some of that life work balance in my very own hands instead of some kat who long lost the memory of what it is like in the field, while others crunch numbers and push buttons that just stretch the ever widening disconnect from metric and monetary expectations to what the nature of this beast actually demands of us. Such lofty heights must have erased their memories, or their current income mutes any empathy for the lower rungs of the ladder. I bet there are depots out there and DSLs and ASLs even that are better than that and run like a well oiled machine, but the fact of the matter is there are others that amazingly have run for so long without so much. An entire fleet of trucks falling apart about almost every day. An office seldom even stocked (if ever at all) with PPE when it is needed. And little to no sense of urgency met when issues arise that are counterproductive to getting our job done. Much needed feedback, from unresponsive DSLs when things go south. No I don't think I'll EVER return to this line of work. My respect to those that handle this kind of cluster for years on end because you are the guys that should have been running the company. Imagine that: getting feedback from the veterans of the field?! Wouldn't that have been a novel direction. Anyway forgive my rant. I know we are all on this sinking ship together but I guess the temptation to indulge in a bit of venting was too much to resist. Best of luck to everyone whatever is next on the horizon for you.

Not worth it. Basically take home $11/hr after 60-70 hr week. Piss poor management as well.
