Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Just heard from a birdie...more layoffs in place for End of Year

Seeing that there are so many layers that are useless, someone higher up mentioned that directors of TAMS/KAMS and CSS teams will be re-organizing by end of year....

I work with these people everyday. They are useless. They don't know a thing about how the company or any of its programs work. You can get rid of most of them and have a few of the good ones manage entire regions.

SPLS has a long tradition of December layoffs. RS: The plan is working. SG: just wear red. Sycamore is the. EST things for the business, it will be business as usual.

Most directors are useless. I had one in managed print who couldn't spell the word print.

I used to think directors were useless until I became one. Then I realized how useless people that just do are. No vision, just copying each other and looking up how to do their jobs on blogs. HQ managers are the corporate equivalent of maintenance and janitorial. Maintenance to fix what each other broke and janitorial to sweep everything else under their director's feet.

Don't get me wrong. Some managers are great. Most are not. Directors are less garbage.

Of course there are many more managers left so this will probably get a ton of down votes. I ask that you down vote only if you dont agree that most managers at Staples are fairly incompetent, hang out on FB all day and play the system. C'mon now, be honest. Like if you agree.
