Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

vp of staples?

last thurs we had a 30 yr anniversary bbq for our essendant warehouse.
the vp of staples was here. no one knows his name but thought that he was only 2 ladder rungs down from the ceo.
anyone know who this person is or why he is at an essendant Albany warehouse?

Now hearing from more than one source that Staples is talking to WB Mason about buyout of WB.
If that happens there will be tons of redundancy

he was there for the free food & drink or maybe he was there to pick up the tab....yeah right, most likely looking at the people he and his masters at SP will be sending to the unemployment office

apologies. the structure at essendant is different from staples. we don't have lots of vp's. we have managers and senior managers. our vp is really a vp of the whole company. sorry I cannot be more precise about this person who came to visit. I did not see him myself.

Because Staples owns Essendant!

Probably one of the people that works with Essendant. They are supposedly not working for both units in a competing manner.

There's nothing to be concerned with until the Essendant layoffs. Once Staples HQ is taken care of (siloed areas of building for Staples and Essendant /physical firewall) they'll then wipe out redundancy to improve profitability.

December is when to expect completion of HQ. This is based on well known published timelines.

December to January for everything else.
This is not absolute. This is informed assumptions with a basis on lengthy history of how things play out.

there no "VP of Staples". There are lots of VPs (though not as many this week as there were a couple weeks ago) representing different areas. You're going to need to be a bit more specific.
