Thread regarding Concho Resources Inc. layoffs

Concho Firings

I think the overall consensus is that we all know these “layoffs” are happening. How Concho is going about it though is a total embarrassment, if the layoffs are necessary then fine call it that and give your employees packages and help them along their way. Firing employees without labeling it what it is, a layoff, sets those people up for failure or a more difficult job search tonsay the least. Not impressed.

OMG you are sooooo correct. I've watched many pre-notice retirees get screwed and laid off by Concho ! I cannot believe management for such a previously-known wonderful company can now behave the way it does , especially in this environment. Many employees getting "dumped". Not a great place to work - not like it used to be with Tim Leach in charge ! So extremely sad that current management has taken down the morale of its employees the way it has over them last several years. Guess a ($) buck is worth a lot more to them.

Pioneer did it honestly and didn’t screw people around like Concho seems to be doing. Never in a million years would I have thought that Concho would be doing something like this. Never

Could not agree more. It’s hard to watch anyone go through this, but it’s even harder seeing people that were close to retirement having to now search for jobs because they now can’t retire because of this. They are just trying to do this all under the table so they don’t have to pay anyone anything by calling it a “layoff”. How messed up is that? Good to know Concho cares about its employees.
