What Seaworld needs in a new CEO

A good read altogether, but this is my favorite part: As SeaWorld continues to thrive in the future, though, it cannot forget the fact that a large portion of its visitors are attracted to its animals. Future attractions will need to incorporate thrill rides, but also have significant animal components. While this may not be cheap or the most efficient option, it will be necessary to bring in both animal-lovers and coaster junkies alike.

Unfortunately it has already been proven that the animal aspect of Sea World is falling to the wayside. You can see it in operation just from SeaWorld alone.

  • Infinity falls area could have focused and put in exhibits about South American animals but all we get are some very badly done games one of which one spot isnt even working
  • Mako had a perfect opportunity to spruce up or add to the sharks area but we only got extra decorations and paint
  • They had a shark touch pool by arctic but was removed just to continue to try new ways for revenue/pass member perks
  • When we lost the last bear at Wild Arctic instead of fighting to get something new in there they took the path of least resistance and put in more harbor seals
  • The new coaster is going to be just that, a coaster. There are no plans to incorporate anything other than just ice elements
  • They cut the entire animal ambassador team

If they really cared about animals, conservation and education then a lot of what they are doing and did in the past would not have happened. There is not going to be a CEO out there that will get hired and will go against the current direction of what the board is going towards. 20 coasters in 10 years. That is the goal of the people currently in charge for the enterprise. Good luck finding room for animals in there.

CEO's are simply there to take the blame for the boards decisions. They frickin hire the CEO's.
Once they've shoved it up our rear ends enough the CEO bails and they search for our next victim. I thought we'd already determined that.
I believe Gus left a little too prematurely. He probably didn't realize how st#pid our board was.

Yeah, those days are long gone. Unless this company goes private, you can look forward to more of the same.

And good look finding a qualified CEO candidate who wants to be apart of this toxic environment.
