How many IT VPs does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Trick question - first you would need to launch a 3-5 year "Illumination Roadmap" to determine the need with at least three $$$ consultancies... then the result would be to fire everyone and hire new VPs to start over

IT was supposed to have contributed to the company's bottom line in savings - but all that money went up in smoke (I mean into the consultant's pockets).

Anything happen? Nope. Any plans? Nope. Any details about the coming of the land of milk and honey? Nope.

Change is inevitable and while true and necessary to maintain relevancy, there is a right and worng way to enact change. I respect the head guy - he is bright and has the company's interests. It's the people under him that cannot get things right. Especially in IT. That division has (a) spent millions of dollars on several consulting groups, (b) hired even more VPs (many of whom add no value as they are fearful of making the wrong move - or even the right one), (c) reneged on a promise to flatten the organization and bring accountability, and (d) completely confused its workforce. Only a few tangible outcomes have been delivered all of which could have been rendered by a college intern as CIO: {perpetual chaos due to no one able to make a decision or provide leadership due to the absence of a true strategy in IT, a workforce literally gripped by fear with unhealthy levels of stress (ironic for a company preaching wellness), decades of loyalty rewarded by unceremonious departures with people just disappearing. The Spirit award is handed out annually. Any nominees for the 2019 "dispirit" awards?
