Regarding nephew and pension- depends on which pension plan he is in and the rules of that plan. Most pension plans are not run by the Company- the Company only contributes to them so whatever has been contributed is still there. But planning to retire in 16 months may mean he is 16 months short of the minimum requirements. Nephew needs to call the plan administrator and find out options.
I have a nephew who is a long-time employee at Dean Foods. He’s due to retire, with a pension, in about 16 months. Does this mean he will not receive his pension?
I called. Was put on hold over an hour. And was told I can’t even get at my 401k to withdraw it. This is terrible!!!!!
