Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Code green

Any other area being forced to do "code green" in pharmacy? Or is it just the Carolinas. Code green is when the opening manager has to go back when rx opens and fill their queue and put it in ready bins and then put their truck up for then. Being told do it or be fired. Being told it doesnt matter what situation arises at the store it has to be done. So when there is 1 manager and 1 opening employee and that employee calls out and now it's just the manager, we are told we still have to do this stuff figure it out call someone in. Schedule better. I cant even run a mid shift but 2 days a week but now we have to make accommodations to be in the pharmacy to do their queue and truck with no extra hours? Is this a corporate thing or area?

Corporate thing for sure. It goes smoothly if you have the budget for it or the skills.

The attitude expressed by some of the pharmacy people of front end being "dead weight" comes across loud and clear. Your egos are showing and that attitude is exactly WHY people are quitting in droves.
Do you realize that there are things only the manager can do, that front end has no access to?
Never mind the fact that the lone cashier is a sitting duck for being robbed, as----ted, etc.
But I guess those in the back could care less, right?!

It is from corporate. These communication gets across to each pharmacy and front end management via compass. This is there because pharmacy is where they get mainly the revenue not front end. Front end stuff is there as a convenience to patients once they are there they can grab other stuff too. I see you guys point of view that on the front you have stuff too. Pharmacy has a lot of tasks to complete as well and under staff. Code green is suppose to help the verified by promise time to increase, which is number 1 driver of customer service and increases your NPS scores in turn.

We don't call it "code green" in our area, but we have the same exact "code green" policy. Though I'm pharmacy technician, I acknowledge that it's an unrealistic expectation for leadership to stay and assist the pharmacy until noon. How can you check in vendors/truck and manage front operations with one clerk if you must stay back in the pharmacy? Sometimes leadership is stuck running the front register. I don't get frustrated when they can't help. The whole reason for this policy is to try to compensate for cutting budget hours. Neither the pharmacy nor the front-end is "dragging their feet." The whole problem is that the entire store is inadequately staffed because of the lack of budget hours, which are determined using flawed and unfair algorithms.

At the store where I work pharm has always been given front end hours plus store manager or hitter to help them. It's nothing for store manager to stay in pharm all day while FE has to take in vendors, do Fed Ex, photo, run register, answer phone, and sometimes gets no breaks. Yes we hgave to do bays and put up truck also. FE has always been the slaves while Pharm drags their feet. Corp only cares about pharm, yet expects FE to give up their holidays with their families so pharm can relax with their families and get paid for it..

Nobody has seemed to mention that pharmacy has been given extra duties for years and now finally getting some support from front end!!! While I don’t think it is fair to expect more and more work out of people who are already working as hard as some of us already are, we still have employees that don’t work like everyone else!!! We need everyone to do their part!!! Dragging dead weight gets old really quickly!!!

They have cut pharmacy hours because of this initiative. I have been cut from 158 tech hours in pharmacy to avg 126 hours. Looking for new job, wish we were still a Rite Aid.

Pharmacy has all the employees while FE busts tail. No hours for FE but plenty for pharmacy. Store manager lives in pharmacy. Now they want to keep store open till midnight even on Christmas eve while Pharmacy gets regular hours and paid but no work on holidays. Maybe this company needs to decide if they want to have a front end or just pharmacy. People in corp have done nothing but destroy this company..

Code green is a living hell for front end management. dump the que leaving 150 for the manager to fill, then 13 ABC totes to put up all while the front end is on fire, but you can't leave the pharmacy or you get written up. Then questioned why front end is on fire and why you haven't put it out. This is all while you're still in pharmacy putting up their truck even though you just got a 500 piece box truck in. It's a lose lose for any front end manager

Yes it’s real. Started in Ohio and spreading. Helps the pharmacy a lot but may be hard on the front end

Never heard of “code green” .... sounds like some bs the dm or RXM made up...at my store we get minimum 16 abc totes every day and most days have only 5 techs, and no mid shift Rph for 2 or 3 days per week ...
