It’s a discretionary bonus. Not part of your salary. You are lucky to still be employed.
It is sad as while we give to charity the company has put many people in a situation were they will now be needing charity and facing financial hardships around the holidays. Many of those 300 people that are now out of work more than likely donated to those charities believing they would still be employed.
As far as the Christmas bonus it was nice to get that and did help. A portion of that was used to give to the Christmas Tree charity when I would take anywhere from 50-75 of it and spend on kids in need. This year I do not know if I will have the additional funds to contribute to that charity without the Christmas bonus. So I know that this will also impact others financially being able to donate to that charity as well.
As far as performance goes the performance of the stocks and decisions of the upper management are what is lacking and the board members of Comenity and Alliance need to look at what is going on and make some sound smart decisions rapidly before those in charge completely ruin the company and bring possible legal actions against them as well.
People have lost their jobs and you are concerned about your Holiday Bonus? And bringing up to stop charitable donations because you are concerned that affects the company incentives? Please re-evaluate the thought process here. It’s one thing if you are frustrated about losing your job, it’s another to associate charitable causes being removed so you can get your Holiday Bonus. I’d focus more on your performance that would yield a bonus that you actual earn, not a handout you expect.
Aww that’s so sad ! So glad I don’t work here anymore now !
