Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Scary working for this company

There is so much uncertainty and the direction seems all over the place. The push for voluntary resignations will lead to layoffs. Who in their right mind would ask to resign if it was not a guarantee? So disappointing in a company I have dedicated so much of my life to.

I worked at Staples IS in Framingham for 21 years. When I started ot was an amazing company. However the last three years I felt it was time to move on. I left on my home and glad that I did. Family and I located to another state and love my new job.

Where do you see yourself in the next 2 to 5 years? Develop an exit strategy and prepare yourself for a new career. Don't wait until Staples dictates your path for success.

:) In the old programmers home!!!!!!

Absolutely the worse decision to throw this out as an option and not a guarantee. Putting a target on your back and clearly a way to save money instead of doing another round of layoffs since sales continue to decline. JH and SD are jokes. The worst leaders we have ever had at the helm of this company. What’s the real story with why they left their previous companies? I am sure there is a story there. They are not transforming this company they are doing quite the opposite.

1 thing is certain, when SP has $ucked up the last bit of value they will kick the last remaining drones to the curb with nothing, bank on that, get out now at your choosing, I did and I've never been happier with my professional life.

The more I see on LinkedIn it’s clear there is life after Staples. So many that were laid off have quickly found new jobs with great companies. Many with higher titles which makes me wonder why Staples stifles so many talented people. It’s time we take control of our destiny and leave this toxic place.
