Paul has done a remarkable job since taking over as CEO of Allscripts 7 years ago. The mix of his clarity of direction and strategy together with his likability and personal skills and intelligence have enabled Allscripts to become a great market leader and to retain and recruit and make incredible use of very talented people.
Paul is direct and a very gifted leader.
This article is clearly written by Paul. Anyone who worked for his company or checked the stock can see he is the captain of the sinking ship.
Maybe in an alternate universe Paul did a remarkable job, but not this one. In this universe he simply padded his bank account. He will walk away from this a very rich guy without an ounce of remorse.
This article is ludicrous. Paul and the entire executive management team, as well as the board, are clueless. They have been for over a decade. They don't care about employees, they don't care about clients, and they certainly don't care about patients. The only thing they care about is the bottom line and ensuring that they continue to receive their year-end bonuses. From my time at allscripts, there seems to be one manager for every two employees. The status quo is alive and well at allscripts, and that status quo is to line the pockets of those at the top.
Clarity and direction? You’ve gotta be kidding unless you meaning pushing the company into a merger or liquidation.
Paul may be a decent person. In the 6 years he has taken over Allscripts, he has shown to be keenly intriguing.
That doesn't make him an excellent leader. He is a numbers guy, that much I can say. I can't speak on his leadership, though because there's decisions made that honestly leave me questioning a lot.
