With all the fake metric excuses being used to fire all the older managers (READ HIGHER PAID) the wrongful dismissal lawsuits for age discrimination are following. There may be enough of these to support a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. What do you think?

I was one of the impacted ( September). Whomever posted if you sign off on the severance agreement (that you cannot sue) is correct. My brother is an attorney, and I had him go through it. Staples is not stupid, by no means. This recent severance document has been fine tuned, and does indeed give older employees (like myself) zero recourse. What was once a wonderful company is now not.
Waste of time. Won't go anywhere because they camouflage the discrimination by ousting other lower paid / younger employees. With each round, you're given a list with ages of employees who were severed.
i had an attorney look when I was let go in 2018, basically they rig the metrics by letting a few but enough 20 somethings and under 40 folks go so that it is impossible to prove age discrimination.
I'm no lawyer but it was worded like you're SOL if you sign it.
But if the signer had no other means of support they can argue the merits of having to choose. Singing a severance package doesn't remove a company's liability for potential Age Discrimination. It isn't a "get out of jail free" card for alleged behavior.
If the severance package was signed, the signer agrees to not sue for a big list of things. Age discrimination is one.
