I feel so sorry for everyone in IT that has been laid off. None of them deserve to be axed after delivering their loyalty and commitment for some upwards of 23 years. I'm glad I got out when I did, though my ex still works in the KC terminal and was just laid off. He didn't want to leave when I did out of loyalty to YRC. On the plus side he is banking $900 a week in unemployment and stimulus payouts. He thinks they will be brought back to the terminal in May. I hope so. For my previous manager who I deeply respect and admire, I would want him to be able to retire in peace.

I've had several friends laid off from YRC Freight corporate, and I'm a former staffer there and stockholder myself. What they are doing is disgusting.
Rather than a "layoff" they are calling it a "13-week furlough" – and then after 13 weeks (from November to February) they "may" have work for you and you come back to work. You have to remain out of work during those 13 weeks or they don't pay severance.
That's right: no severance for 13 weeks after they lay you off. Right before the holiday season.
I was in IT and also laid off. Wow.
