I'm not sure how much more NJ can take - not to mention HCT. How bad is it in other locations? Anybody else feels like they are taking this too far?

I was laid off from Optum yesterday. Have heard of many layoffs in many sectors in CCM and national on-call. Haven’t heard that the APC conference (all expenses paid party) in February has been canceled though!
I heard from a few reliable contacts further up the totem pole that the NJ location (among others) will be getting shuttered eventually in the near future. Makes sense seeing how many people were laid off from here in the last few months. Get your resumes up to date and start looking now.
They just laid 120 people off from our department that completed medication reviews for Medicare members. Like the above post mentioned, not many were spared. They fired 3 directors and 9 of the 12 managers. Most of the staff pharmacists were laid off also.
5000? Wow! I didn’t even know there were layoffs until it affected my department yesterday. I guess you work a bit in a bubble when you telecommute. Thankful to have a job today, but feel awful for those who do not.
Do we know what’s in the next phase or who they’ll cut next? They cut down to the clinical hands on patient level yesterday (11/6). Experience, management, education,.... doesn’t matter. No one seems safe...
Seems like even if you ARE reading this site you still can't figure out what the heck is going on. I am pretty sure 200 something people were let go yesterday (11/06) from Optum. SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE!! Are they taking this too far? No clue! Obviously someone said we needed to save some cash and FAST. So they did, and gave everyone just two weeks to figure out how to keep the company's lights on in the process. Bad way to do business Optum, you should be ashamed of yourself. I've worked for this company for years and always have been proud to work for you, but this is just disgraceful.
It seems if you’re not reading this site, you don’t know what’s happening. A friend of a friend in HR said since October it’s been close to 5000 laid off. My head is spinning.
