Delano CA RRC Closing

My friends at Delano say they were given notice they are closing at the end of the year. In addition to being an RRC they are also a Tires DC and the shoe DC. Shoes were brought in-house there a few years ago from previously using an outside contract logistics company. Possibly more evidence the softlines are going away?

Probably only if they’re FT and have more than one year of time prior to the announcement that the facility was going to close. If past practices hold, they will get one week of severance for each year, capped at 10 weeks.

PT (even if they were FT in the past) and FT people with less than a year will be left with nothing, as per usual.

I’m guessing those employees will be offered severance pay?

It lines up to the Fresno and Visalia closings, oddly enough Clovis Sears survived the cuts, I heard rumors that few full line Sears stores will serve as DC's for smaller stores such as Hometown (the hometown remerger was just last month) Who know's
