Thread regarding Sears layoffs

More HE Layoffs?

Anyone have any insight as to possible layoffs coming to Hoffman Estates this week? I’m hearing upwards of cutting 50% again but not sure what departments.

I know as a fact Hoffman Estates Sears is laying off today. A relative of mine in Finance just got laid off.

There are very few associates left at Hoffman... even at lunch hour the cafeteria is sparsely populated, Java city is closed and most of the parking garages are empty... who's going to run the place if they cut more employees?

The BF ad is horrible, by far the worst in history. Not sure how they think this ad will bring people into the store or shop online.

I got wind that layoffs were pushed back to next week. Not sure how accurate it may be.

They’re cutting full time employees hours while keeping temps at 40-50 hrs a week

The softer side of Sears is over. Anyone involved in apparel is gone.

I would bet it will be a bloodbath. With the newest round of closures disclosed this week, the total store count would be around 150. After what I expect to be a dismal Holiday sales period, the remaining stores are all in jeopardy. No stores=no need for 100's at HE. Appliance and Hardware teams might be safe for SHO go forward stores.
