I worked for Kroger for three years and truly felt the corporation viewed employees as SLAVES and not in any way assets. From scheduling, which is atrocious and shows a lack of regard for employee well being or personal lives, to not listening to any input from ANY employee including managers. Let's face it, Kroger has become just like many corporations that have found the only way left to increase profits for investors is to squeeze everything they can out of employees - requiring extreme workloads, no promotion to full time, degrading, and abusive treatment to keep you feeling unworthy. Their turnover is a joke. Really, you might as well shop at Walmart because they treat employees the same way but at least you'll save money. Walmart is the lesser of two evils.
