Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Got laid off today...I guess the severance package was descent...but the lay offs didn’t fit any patern

several of my team members have one on one with their directors including myself ....lets see what happens tomorrow

I've heard this from several different sources as well. Large stddev, but definitely something bigger than usual happening next week.

Let's see I told you the layoff date, when the warn notice was being sent and you just saw the CEO was fired. Yup I totally did a fake post. It is a blanket global cut. The rif list at the higher levels was driven by or's cos. But like you said this is a fake post.

If it’s not a fake post, then give more details. What departments/groups/locations? If you know something, say it.

How is there no traffic on this? Do you honestly believe this is a fake post?

Warn notice will be filed either on Friday or Monday.

So instead of focusing on growing the business you are focused on corporate cleanup and cost control - because you overspent in the previous quarters ?

Sounds like comprehensive mismanagement of what is a fairly simple business.

Because you do your corp cleanups in q4 so when you report year end numbers your operating costs are better. What in the all hands on the 11th, there will be no mention of what is going to happen

Now you know why travel for the kick off is on hold....nothing to do with deferring cost until Q1.

Another set of BS from ‘leaders’ who clearly can’t manage a business.

And if the cost cutting was really required for Q4, why not do it in the previous quarter - after all the boasts that next year’s planning had been started after the strategy was confirmed in the summer.

The only consistency would appear to be incompetency.

What is happening on the 13th? I haven’t received any emails. Just rumours in the team that the practice is being disbanded.
