The cuts are coming Q1 when we all worked through Customer year Dec End and Dell year end in Feb.This is decided long ago.I am here 11 years and have seen it across multiple teams.Hiring previous week and cutting at same time the new hire.Cuts should happen in management level so many coasting along!!
Who is on the right mind would join such a company with racism as the main motivation for layoffs. Teams units with majority from certain race. Both Raghu and Ravij said that we have a culture bias debt. Guess what it is debt that keeps increasing due to these racist layoffs.
Fix your VPs, senior directors, and directors first. Look at EUC, CMPBU, NSX.

Managers will not be cut unless it is a full team. Managers will cut down staff to survive. As usual, they will alienate good staff to get rid of them. This way, they get to maintain their job because they manage newly grad. That is always the case. I survived 7 Januaries. It is absurd that the staff are laid down for head chopping in this disgusting vmware tradition. Still, Pat is talking BS about inclusion and he knows that these lay-off decisions are mainly based on ego and personal favors. The outcome is clear. I didn’t hear anything about a percentage other than here. Hope it is wrong but if it is true. That is gonna be a war this time and vmware will go deep into major losses.
Still not anything to freak out about as an annual event. Sorry if your org leaders make c-appy choices, but panic isn't helpful. Maybe these leaders for once will be affected if any of the 20% rumors turn out true.

Stop spreading FUD. January headcount challenges vs projected growth happen every year. At year end. Like clockwork. Being upset because managers are asked to be thoughtful about it in advance, and they are taking time to plan seems like an odd thing to panic about.
