How it all happened :(

  1. Symantec discards storage business Veritas 2016 - CEO Mike Brown architect of deal
  1. Hire a stupid CEO , CFL and COO from an acquired co - they together mess things beyond repair
  1. Symantec investigations by SEC - share price crashes - May 2018.
  1. Starboard hacks into board late 2018 - plants their man right to the top. Fires the CEO
  1. Symantec broken up by greedy investor activists 2019. CEO dials a deal with his BRCM buddy ( birds of a feather flock together)
  1. Symantec RemainCo renamed Norton Lifelock Inc November 2019
  1. Next .. Richard Hill will move on - job executed! Earned his millions !
  1. Next...another investor activist will mess up consumer business Sell it off , lay-off
  1. BRCM will spin off Symantec after 5 - 6 years at a profit .

End of story ! Ruin lives and families with lay-off after lay-off. Good day folks and good luck consumer Norton Lifelock Inc.

It started with the Veritas acquisition. All down hill after that. Sad ending to what was once (pre 2011) a good place to work. The software started to erode in quality before that though. John Thompson tried to buy his way out of the problem and exited with tons of money and a ruined company. Good luck, everyone. Broadcom is a terrible employer. They are basically a private equity firm run by a king who is bat sh– crazy. Consider yourself lucky if you got a severance.

Actually it started with the acquisition of Veritas. JT's stupid "hurr hurr hurr, we sat down over wine and said "Y'know, lets merge orgs" conversation with the Veritas CEO was so stupid. That was the start of the nosedive

Yeah, this company has been mismanaged and mislead for 10 + years! Who cares, it’s over now. Good luck to stayers and leavers, change is good and the only thing that’s ever guaranteed!!
