Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Can you hear the crickets? They are louder now.

I'm going to have to go to the tool crib to get some better ear plugs.

This site does the day after all the doomsayers are proven wrong.

Scrolled through the past 3 months of comments.

Here is what I found
Shut down for 60 days starting in august - nope
Layoffs predicted for the following dates:
Aug 22 - nope
Sept 18 - nope
Oct 10 - nope
Oct 30 - nope

It appears the "sources" on this site s—. 90% of everything here is pure conjecture.

Most is just b–ching about Boeing. What did Einstein say? " Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

If you b–ch and hate on Boeing, they are not the only company out there. If you have skills (and many union folks do) you can get another job, somewhere you will be happy. But there are a good number of union folks that know they have no skills and could not get hired anywhere else, and if they did, they would actually have to work. Those people give the rest of us union folks a bad name.

If you don't like it GTFO

OK Will, you’ve made your point. No layoff until the bank locks the gate.
Is that fare to say?

Here it is 2 months after my original post. STILL no layoffs.

There have been several more "predictions" that have not come true since then.

Since the 1st of the year the crickets have gotten louder when the union got the bonuses many here predicted they would not get.

The crickets are so loud now you can find them easily. If you dip them in chocolate they make an amazing snack.

Stock tanks, cheaper to do the buy backs when they restart...think about it. Pretty smart (If you are looking for profits vs safety)

Yes, I can hear the crickets, as rogue management walks evermore quietly.
Their arrogance and bombastic mannerisms fading with the darkening ominous
silence that is the realization of imminent over watch and federal investigations.

This is the reckoning for middle for middle management while senior management
grows more conservative and less tolerant of self indulgent puerile behavior
exhibited by those managers who extol themselves.

Drink fully from your cups as they have spilled over, forming smoldering pits.

We call NMA
MoM or Middle of Market and it's alive and well we will be jumping
Way ahead of Airbus so lots of work ahead for all in this market.
No Layoffs.

Aviation Week:
Airbus and Boeing are following distinctly different strategies for modernizing
Their production systems.
Despite their decisions earlier this decade not to build all-new single-aisle aircraft
but instead focus on modernizing their existing 737 and A320 platforms.
Airbus has decided to use upgrades for variants of the A320neo family as an
opportunity to also introduce production changes
While Boeing outlined studies of a longer-fuselage MAX version the 737-10X
that may be powered by a derivative of the larger-diameter CFM Leap 1C
developed for the Comac C919.
Boeing is leaning toward a simpler, lower-risk derivative to counter the Airbus
A321neo that is a stretched A320
Meanwhile at Boeing top executive said.
The manufacturing criteria for deciding whether to pursue the
NMA will include “producibility,” ongoing and one-time risk elements,
life-cycle opportunities and whether there is a viable engine available.

IMHO, OP should take his own advice and take his writing skills to some place which would make him much happier, or at least his language less hateful and offensive.

I scrolled too, apart from those threads OP mentioned found a bunch of threads saying “no layoffs this year” and “no layoffs this month”.
Like @11OW0XWv-zjb said, everyone can voice their opinion here, and every single one of us gets to decide which posts are trivial and which ones make sense.

Einstein never said that.
Yes we all see a some b–ching, it happens.
It’s very easy to separate the wheat from the chaff here.
Everyone has a right to an opinion.
Everyone has a right to voice their opinion.

There are some, far less than one percent of posters,
that lash out with personnel attracts and vulgarities towards others.
It’s easy to separate the wheat from the chaff here too.

That silence you hear is the sound of all the pot stirring Boeing haters all going quiet at once.
