Thread regarding Alliance Data Systems Corp. layoffs

How hard is it truly to find a job right now?

Especially for those of us above a certain age? I've heard horror stories about people in their fifties not having any luck even getting to the interview stage - is it really that bad?

Having that hanging over my head makes me stress even more about the possibility of more layoffs.

It’s a sad time and if you’re over 50 sadder. Now before Christmas Holidays chances are slim to none you would get interviews

I was laid off in 2008 from an Accounting job and have held sh– jobs ever since. I am 56 years old. I go to interviews and never hear from them again. Good luck to you.

I am 56+ and have been laid off since the second week in August. I have applied to 104 applications online as no one wants to take them hard copy anymore, which has resulted in two interviews both of which would result in a 50% pay cut. I have found that there is approximately a 30 lag in response time. Prayers and good luck in your search.
