Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

New layoffs coming

New layoffs are coming next month. These rounds are much like the rounds in September. Basically based on salary and not performance.

For anyone working be prepared. This will be very ugly.

Did anyone in the Burlington, MA office get hit? That office has a lot of BA's, developers, and support for Sunrise, SFM plus other applications. It got hit hard a couple of years ago.

How’s the severance?

It's come and gone
A lot of talented people were let go across multiple locations (Chicago, Boston, Raleigh). A lot of dedicated folks who helped build Allscripts solutions were also let go.

I'm literally at a loss for a few reasons. This is conjecture but I honestly envision Allscripts a place where SDO will eventually be led by offshore teams. Solutions management teams will be in America and eventually even support will go to America (except rare circumstances by Northwell).

Some sources are telling me that entire business units are being let go to facilitate this effort. I would imagine it is a staggered termination, so expect more of these type of layoffs in January/February timeframe.

In addition, do expect the performance based bonuses (for anyone left) to be absolutely paltry. The company is in really dire circumstances. If a company can't keep development happy, that's a massive problem.

After over a decade I got hit. Didnt shed ONE tear. I had seen it coming. Been miserable for SO long and the management is a joke. NO interest in helping people transition into other avenues in the company unless you're kissing major a– and that is not my style. Taking my severance and looking forward to what the universe has for me. #Deuces

How many eliminated? One of Allscripts 3rd party partners (nThrive) also just announced mass layoffs (800+) at their Raleigh office

Yep, notifications are happening today. Pretty heavy hits across SDO (development org) and there are also hits in Services and Support (CDO)

I look forward to seeing the VPs who get hit, but you know they won't

Regarding it starting today, what part of the business are you talking about?

It started today. First one I heard was my manager– long time, revered, effective, etc.

SDO is the Solutions Development Organization. I don't know that this is the only organization being hit but SDO is being hit. The SVP of Development Jim M, is retiring and the organization is being restructured. Some individuals have already been told they are on the short list and that it will happen in the next couple weeks, (11-18 would fit into that timeframe) others have not been told and it will be a surprise.

It is a shame that the Senior Leadership Team can't get their act together but this seems to be the modus operandi at this point – hire a bunch of freshers out of college, then fire the senior people – they are more expensive after all.

@11MqrK3X-9kox I think that will be when it is announced to everyone else. I would think the people being fired would be informed sooner. I'm not sure

It’s often been based on salary in my opinion have seen many high performing long time employees let go. Sorry to hear it has not gotten better and I don’t believe it ever will. Not a company to grow with at all.
