Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

10 to 15% Layoff coming soon

AWESOME!!!!!!! Alpine High was clearly a huge mistake. Let's see who makes it though this one. I'm sure SA office will close 1st. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I'm sure plenty of people in Alpine are good people, but my interactions have been negative, and I say good f** riddance

lol my mistake on missing the sarcasm. There is enough bad blood with San Antonio that I could believe someone actually being happy about Alpine folks getting slashed.

Need to cut the exec ranks first.
The Re-Org is just a way for the chief to buy time. Like everything else he’s touched it is going to be a failure.

Obvious Sarcasm there... Why did we continue hiring entry level employees knowing this downturn was coming.. oh, cost cutting in advance. Why have we been hiring director level employees and promoting at the same rate.... Go figure...

Hold your horses there, layoffs are definitely not cool. Necessary, but not cool. It's a shame that people were hired and given jobs here in the first place if we weren't capable of delivering on our promises. Now employees will pay the price for poor corporate leadership. But yes, San Antonio will almost assuredly close. And based on that presentation I wouldn't rule Midland out either.
