These ridiculous rumors are not true. Probably started by disgruntled former employees hoping to cause panic and a mass exodus. Let’s be honest. The employees who were let go from Fresenius Kabi grand island weren’t “laid off” in the traditional sense. They were terminated for poor performance and every one of them had been disciplinary problems; written up multiple times, many were on their final written warning and/or had not been meeting the goals of performance improvement plans they had in place to remedy poor work behaviors. These “laid off” folks were some of the most lazy, miserable, and cynical employees. They called in “sick” constantly, abused medical leave programs, purposely slowed down production when they didn’t get what they wanted, refused to learn parts of their jobs, refused to do certain job duties, took extra long breaks, disappeared for hours at a time, and complained constantly about everyone and everything. Worst of all, they didn’t appreciate the opportunity to work for great pay and great benefits, despite the fact that most had no higher education, or prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing. They created a toxic work environment, forced the good employees to pick up there slack, and were polluting the work environment with their defiant attitudes. These were people that should have been fired ages ago. I say good riddance. Those left who should have been included in the recent purge let this be a lesson to you that if you don’t start changing your behavior and attitude you will be next. And for all my fellow co-workers that truly deserve to be at Fresenius Kabi now we can finally come to work without having to deal with all the negativity and dead weight. To my employers I say Thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting rid of the toxicity that was sleeping into every facet of this plant. Moving forward, let’s all work together as a team to make this a better and more productive operation.
