When do we start laying them off? Better yet why don’t we shutter them already and do them a favor?

If Amazon has any backbone, start d–g testing at wfm. You can start in Florida region leadership.
WFM was an incredibly puzzling purchase. I imagine only those "in the know" can make any sense of it.
The facts:
Amazon bought a dated failing store concept with 500+ locations.
Each location is drastically different from the next, due to shoe-horning in stores to older buildings that are not ideal supermarket buildings. This makes logistics a huge challenge as well as any kind of streamlining. New concepts can not be implemented across such vastly different store footprints.
WFM has a long history of hippie business practices where those lower down in the business heirarchy can be promoted to top level positions due to peer based interview panels.
The company is spit into autonomous regions, each with its own set of rules and culture.
The WFM tech team is a mess, with no clear vision.
We are all just wondering why. It's been 2+ years and it is still not clear to me. The only thing that makes sense is that Amazon will k–l off the WFM brand and convert stores to an AmazonGo type concept.
