Best Buy is doing okay in spite of Amazon and probably Newegg and even ebay, so I wouldn't place all blame on them. Rather it's more likely that the demise of Fry's Electronics is due to poor management that didn't appropriately adjust to online competition. I'm sure Costco, Target, and Walmart are even doing okay sales-wise in their electronics departments but they have a large footprint in comparison to Fry's. But all have decent online sales mechanics from the consumer perspective including a decent enough app and website experience.
(Not that I'm disagreeing that Amazon and other "big tech" companies behave in a monopolistic manner and should face more governmental scrutiny.)
But I wonder how smaller players competing in the electronics retail sector are fairing like Beach Camera, B&H, Adorama, Microcenter, etc.
