Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

What’s these rumors about severence?

Reading through some of these threads and there are references to BC being too tight to pay severances.

In Europe the suggestion is BC will honor the SymC standard for severances. Also, they then bill symantec and get a refund.

Some countries in europe at this moment under SymC would get two weeks statutory and four weeks ex gratia for each year worked.

Is there any suggestion at all that BC are looking to ignore the existing standard of severance terms?

That is not true. For example the UK has started it will follow symantec severance for a year. Please don't spread FUD.

What most people do not realize is that these policies all only apply to the US. For the rest of world the statement is to follow in country legislation - which in a lot of cases means they do not have to pay any severance at all.

Art indicated that Broadcom will adhere to Symantec’s severance policy for one year.
