Talent discussions and rankings are a part of Alliance Data's Care and Collections culture and are in most every other department. There is always an end of year ranking and a mid-year ranking for all Operation Leads, Supervisors, Department Managers, Operation Managers, Directors and above. About a month ago, all VPs asked for a current ranking of all employees (Leads and above). This was the list used to target the bottom performers and were most definitely the ones to be eliminated. There was also a bottom 20% list of all Care associates ranked by sentiment score in Nexidia, the new call evaluation system. Folks, this is not an accurate system and sentiment scores are most definitely not accurate. These bottom 20% are being asked if this is the right job and some have been forced to leave the company. Another part of the plan to reduce workforce. Get out now if you are able to. The mothership is sinking!

it was performance based for some, others were write-up related (see also attitude), and redundant jobs. you don't need 1 manager and 2 supes to manage 4 people.

There were definitely people who deserved to be let go; in fact they should never have gotten to the positions they were in. These people won't be missed. But I have to agree that there were others who seemed very knowledgeable and hard-working, and had been there a long time.

It doesn’t make sense who they let go. Solid, very solid people were cut, some who have been here only a few years and some who have been here over 20 years. I feel horrible for them.

I've seen at least five posts here claiming that there was no rhyme or reason as it relates to layoff selection criteria.
