787 production is dropping by 2 airplanes per month in early 2020. The 777X service date has been slid to the right until 2021 from 2020. Backlog of 737MAX airplanes aren't cast in concrete but, I don't see many being walked away from though it's a good chance some will. Boeing has F'ed up beyond comprehension. They are certain to layoff soon, if not this week. WARN's must go out to drop employment prior to contractual bonuses in January and February for IAM members, not to mention getting them off the payroll prior to Christmas shut down. Every IAM member is due to get a $5,000 contractual signing bonus come January.

It’s all part of the plan.
This year will be written off and with no bonuses will lay-off or put employees on a furlough.
Most likely a furlough Boeing did it before.

Yes - 18 months to deliver 450.
Yes - 80M is retail.
Yes - Backlog is not a certain thing
We miss a delivery date by more than 180 days
The Customers can walk Without Penalty – Yes
I Agree
But then they have to place orders with someone Not Boeing
As their needs for more or new aircraft continue to grow.
As air travel grows.
Does the customer's needs out way their anger (can't be quantified) Risk

OR there’s a global recession, then we are all out of work everywhere.
And Boeing files for Bankruptcy as customers walk.
The Perfect Storm!
The Max being just one link in the chain
Yes - Sword of Damocles I read the entire article (Yes Valid)
But it’s all Risk until its real, then its blood

Is It Ugly, Yes, it’s Ugly Twice.
Ugly now and pretty apt to stay Ugly for years
Would I Like to see a Criminal Trial
Where the defendants pay for council If their convicted,

Just cause there are 450 sitting and waiting for updates doesn't mean they will be delivered soon... Its gonna take at least 18 months to deliver all those planes.

oh.. and 80 million is retail... customers gonna pay 40 - 50 million each.. read the article.

People on here don’t understand backlog is not a certain thing. Especially with the grounding going on for so long. There is a contractual clause that at some point the cancelations can occur without forfeit of deposits.

  • Skeptics Debunk This

The Order Backlog for the Max is 4,406
Given we have roughly 450 bran-new Max aircraft waiting to be delivered, Under Contract,
as soon as the re-certification process is complete they will be delivered.
Using Math:
As of this date 10/20/19, there are 3,950 more Max aircraft needing to be built.
Orders are Orders
This leaves the Boeing Renton site with 94 months of work at the 42 per month rate.
3,950 Aircraft x $80,000,000 = $316,000,000,000

With this kind of money at stake, its more probable to see prison time
for members of the board, than to see layoffs.

It's highly unlikely any of the board members will see prison.
After all they did not steal from the rich or the government.
They just k–led commoners.

Greed Trumps decency ever time

Did deaths stop the Panama Canal?
Did deaths stop the railroad?
Did anyone see prison?

We Are Boeing
Step aside or get stepped on

I understand some of Boeing's major suppliers are also involved in the Texas meetings.

"Several blue-ribbon panels are also investigating the plane’s approval".
Sounds like another white wash > JFK investigation panel.
