So between the SSC, Category Management, and BP, how screwed up is SCM?

Supply chain and IT are the worst for client service. It’s a joke in the office to avoid them if you can. Sign vendor contracts cause SCM doesn’t help you in a timely manner. That TIS lab.......what value do they bring? I just get some help with my new hire’s phone that hasn’t worked for 3 days.
ummm if you are that unhappy leave. Lots of SCM jobs out there! Stopping behind your head
I agree. Worst place in the company to work. The rest of the company tries to avoid calling SCM, and when they don’t it’s all the fault of the front line people who are powerless to change anything.
I work in SCM and it is as bad inside as it looks from the outside. The same leadership that dismantled both SCM organizations from the legacy companies into the mess it is today is now preaching its focus on the customer.
Everyone in SCM seems overworked and full of hatred for the company. I’m sure there are exceptions, but the worst reviews of the Shared Services area seem to be from the people who work within it.
SCM is another classic example of a failed shared services model. It’s essentially a ticket intake system that assigns requisitions to buyers anywhere in Canada or US. So forget having your own dedicated project SCM team who understand your project. Now we get to deal with business partners who can’t even keep track of what’s going on. Of course ENB is too proud and won’t admit this was a huge f— up. Most of the folks there are overworked, unhappy and frustrated. SCM wasn’t so bad before but now they are a absolute bottleneck managed by a bunch of complete mo–ns who were recently promoted. Good luck trying to offshore this model! Hopefully I’ll be gone by then and won’t have to suffer through this failed business model.
People keep leaving the company and aren’t being replaced. I know of 2 who’ve left a couple of months ago. No replacement.
Everyone knows they will outsource all scm overseas...come on...consolidating all the buying...STANDARDIZING...anyone ever walked around on scm in Houston? Pitiful. VP that goes MIA...looks like skeleton crew...
I have worked with some good people in SCM but they are being run into the ground with too much work, chronically under staffed, and will probably leave at the first opportunity.
The best group to work with is Infrastructure Planning. Hands down the smartest, most talented and hardest working group I have even come across.
What is the lay-off angle here!
Boooo-urns
I been having no issues with SCM lately. A lot better than the other Shared Services I have to work with.
My experience with SCM is decent.
Is there a layoffs topic here?
Example?
