Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Thanks again Ford

Has anyone else who got laid off by Ford got screwed by their incompetent HR team? When let go I was told I had 6 months of My medical Benefits. Well I go to my Dr. for an appointment and they inform me that I no longer have insurance. So I had to cancel it. I was suppose to be covered through November and they just decide to cancel it? I dread having to call in and talk to these id!ots as they are clueless.

Whatever you do Do Not sign up to have insurance benefits taken automatically out of your bank account. When we first signed up for retiree Benefits it appeared to be the only option. I can not begin to tell you the grief this has caused. They seem to have No Idea how much to charge and have completely overcharged us without any accounting of the actual cost. We too had arranged for dental benefits which are still not listed in our coverages. God help anyone who has a problem with their benefits! The NESC are the most incompetent individuals on the planet! Scheduled phone calls that are never received, billing statements that don’t exist, still waiting for them to process a refund for $$ they never should have taken. Plus they act like they are doing you a favor looking into it- No apologies, no accepting responsibility for their screw ups! Seriously with the vast number of people out there looking for jobs these reps are the best you could come up with? God help us!!

NESC is an absolute disgrace. The service is nonexistent, zero communication, no follow up even when they specially say they will call you on a certain day. Once you leave you are considered gone. Your dealing with a third party that hires below average employees, who are directed to make your life a living hell. The company has Over Achieved by contracting this company to make former employees feel like total pieces of sh–....!!!!

I would have to agree that the support you get after retiring is almost non existent. Part of the problem is the process. If you have a problem you’re the only one who will take ownership. You can call or submit a request and each time you’ll get a different call center rep who is measured by how quickly they close the request and move on to the next one. I have encountered many issues and it typically takes multiple calls and service requests to resolve each issue. With each new request you have to re-explain the entire story and what you done in an attempt to resolve it.

After you leave, you cease to exist. In the future, any contact you have with them will be more of the same. You are now low priority. You have now become a hindrance to the bottom line. When your pension ends at death they will celebrate your passing, not caring about your efforts for 30 years working to support the company. They will be one less retiree pension to their ultimate goal.

God, I am old enough to remember when the NESC were actually Ford employees, and gave a dam.

But, as you know, according to ole Uncle Jim Hacthet, disruption is great, wonderful, terrific..."let me hug you as I stab you in the back" he says smiling!

NESC is a hot mess. I was laid off and it has been one snaffu after another. I elected to retire and purchased retiree vision and dental. Had to cancel the dentist appointment because they said I didn’t have insurance. Apparently I am paying for it but was never actually enrolled in it. Trying to get that resolved. To sign up for Medicare part b I need evidence that I had employer provided insurance that will be ending. I have been trying for three months to get that in writing. I could go on and on but why bore you. Assume they are going to do everything wrong in the first few attempts.

I visited my Dr. and they said the same thing. I realized I had not visited in 2 years when I was covered by HAP, it was HAP that informed them I was not covered. I flipped out my BCBS card and all was good.

Not saying that this is your situation, just sharing info. Good luck
