Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

We've got a serious management issue

I fully agree that we've got a serious management issue. It's evident across the board at all levels, you've got individuals manning the helm that do not deserve to do so as they are under qualified, and worst of all undermotivated to do the job at hand rather than politic and watch golf at their desks. I do think there is a better way to manage market share increases rather than laying off personnel. Personnel create an opportunity for performance, and by reducing that head count you diminish that opportunity. I do still belive the cuts were made as stop loss measures, but I do not think they are as heavy as folks are anticipating. Perhaps these areas that just got affected by cuts would be better suited to operate if they had proper managers running the plants.

On point post from @11149P4n-4yoi. Deserved its own thread.

In all the meetings I attended, NO ONE ever talked of increasing revenue and seeing new customers. The subject was always cut, cut, cut. A very wise man made a comment decades ago that you "cannot starve a company into prosperity". Obviously the twits in charge now didn't do well in high school let alone college. Of course, maybe they were some of the few that were 'bought into college' by mommy and daddy.

When we have leadership , who do not care on how we waste our time, our resources , our manpower , we become a ship such as Titanic.

I can tell you what would be great. If they start building current production equipment. It’s like they only have a copy of the first set of prints and when we get new equipment it goes to the shop so that they can do all of the updates ( That come from Duncan) from the past 5 years. Really????

DMC has horrible management. Basically a bunch of accountants who know nothing about manufacturing. Now we're seeing more of the same ol' buddy-system and nepotism as husband/wive teams are being promoted. New plant layout being led by people without a clue who continually lie to management about how great it will be.

Dear Employees of Halliburton,

I didn't want to post this until October as a surprise, but jokers like "Uncle Dave" forced my hand. Here is the memo that I wrote up all today that I wanted you to see before we officially release it. We really value ALL of your contributions to this company. And I quote:

Victims of the almighty Sarlacc pit (AKA Human Resources)! His excellency hopes you will be FIRED honourably. But should any of you wish to beg for mercy, little Jeffrey is now out and will listen to your pleas.

Wholeheartedly agree. We are seeing the effects of politicking and nepotism and years of managerial self enrichment coming home to roost.
