I've been to several. There's no real inventory except caps and t-shirts, plus they look like K-Mart and Sears stores when they were on life support and circling the toilet bowl. Dark, dirty, and in disarray.

There is no point in beating a dead horse. It will never wake up. Just move on...
If you would pass and actually read the post and not what you want it to read , you will see the poster does not even live in the community and more.
Sheesh
Where did the poster state all Sidney businesses are going broke as well as even mentioning the city manager?
Read into the statement to justify your flawed and myopic opion and position.
Boy did the poster call that, didn't take long for our 'individual' to come out of the wood work now did it.
What a way to misinterpe his post.
Now let get this right Cabela's is all bad and evil , our Sidney business are all going broke, now the whole Sidney community except for you are horrible people. Lets see am I right you and your family and the city manager according to you are the only good people in Sidney is this right?
First of I know that my comment will garner the ire of self proclaimed savior of the city, and I will be deemed a Sidney and Cabelas. This is fie with me
There are some good people who lived and still live in Sidney, with that being said, they were greatly outnumbered by a majority of narcissistic, self righteous Cretans. any of whim worked at the big green box on the hill.
If you were not privy to the or part of the clique as it were, you and your family were shunned and ridiculed until yo either broke down and sold your morals and followed along like well trained sheep or you gave up and left the area.
I have personally witnessed the bullying of individuals as well as complete families. Just because of their different attitude of beliefs. I watch businesses being destroyed because the owner would not play along with the nepotism rampant in the local city and county government and well as the Cabelas culture.
When to town to work for what once was a great company with high standards and morals. i thought that i had found my home. AS time wore on I began to notice the greed and cronyism which was and still is rampant in the area today. My biggest mistake was pointing this out in front of the wrong individuals.
From that point my and my families lives became a living hell. I was quietly and slowly demoted from position, manager favorites, and those willing to sacrifice their morals were placed in potions of authority or me. My children became bullied and hassled at school, we were shunned even at our house of worship.
When the time came for reductions after the sale of Cabelas, I was locked out of the system and the following morning i was met at the door by security presented a box for my belongings my badge was removed from my person, i was escorted to my work station allowed to pack my belongings which were thoroughly searched not once but twice, once by security at what was my work station, and once more at the door.
I was shown the door escorted out and the door was locked behind me. Treated like a criminal.
By the end of the day my daughters came hone in tears from the ridicule and bullying of classmates due to my dismissal.
How did the children in their class receive this information it is still unknown to me this day.
Distraught and depressed as to how i was going to support my family, With no further prospect of employment in Sidney due to the lack jobs and the nepotistic attitude of the community. I had suddenly became a pariah, and untouchable.
By shear happenstance after four weeks of not being able to find employment i had resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to uproot my family to provide for them. One of my previous coworkers at the company i had left called and was curious to how I was doing and informed me that my old position had just come open. Which I gratefully.accepted.
In the three years since then we have been able to rebuild our lives and move on albeit much more cautious.
So yes I am a Cabelas and Sidney Nebraska Hater, if i would have known what the area and community was like i would have never accepted the position with Cabelas.
Cabelas as well as the community and the area as a whole need to hang their heads in shame ans seek forgiveness for the hurt they have caused.
Traveling through recently we stopped to see and visit a few friends who are left, and were were appalled as to the emptiness. The feeling of sadness. The same high school drama and self centered attitude today and I doubt it will ever change.
well that would better than living in Sidney.
you live east of Cheyenne don't you?
We b legion
It would be safe to say that you will find cabelas haters all over the country,
Why would we/you even care cabelas doesn't even exist anymore.
To the Cabelas hater you did move to Cheyenne didn’t you.
You live in Cheyenne don't you? I was talking to someone who said you lived in Cheyenne.
If I were in Cheyenne, I'd go to Scheels in Loveland, CO. They are what Cabela's used to be. Nice stores, good customer service, and great inventory.
Seems like someone high on coolaid is in denial of facts
I have so many friends who love the cabelas store in Sidney.
Are the friends real or.....................???????????????????
Why are you traveling to Sidney from Cheyenne to purchase second rate low cost inferior products when you can stay in Cheyenne or on the front range purchase much better quality product from smaller locally operated sporting goods store?
Or are you local harbinger attempting to chime in and possibly substantiate your flawed potion?
What a load of BS the store is half stocked the merchandise is third rate, the 'outfitters' are clueless as misinformed as to the product and it use.
I even doubt half of the have even hunted or fished, unless it is on a Xbox or iPad.
Fake news, all i the name of self justification and aggrandizement.
Customer service is horrendous at best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can you provide excellent customer service when your attitude is, this is just a job and how long will I have a job before they close the doors and i will have to seek government aid since there is not one decent paying job left in the are.
So misleading the populace your tripe on how good things are. they are not.
Mike drop
and all of your sentences start with a capital I.
I am from Cheyenne and I have shopped at the Cabelas store in Sidney for years . I am amazed at the excellent selection of merchandise they have and the excellent customer service . I have so many friends who love the Cabelas store in Sidney.
The days of brick and mortar stores are in my opinion limited, especially if you are niche type retailer such as Bass Pro and what used to be Cabela's.
So far...
Cut payroll
Sold stores real estate
Reduced assortment and inventory
What could be the next strategy to stay afloat and pay back Goldman ?
BP is trying to do what Gap-Old Navy did by marketing same product under different store brands. Gap inc has been struggling and now decided to spin off old navy, while BP is trying to do what GAP did more than two decades ago and now that is not working any more!
I agree the Cabelas stores do look like Kmart. Very bad merchandising, store layout and structure. No wonder they went down the tubes so fast.
I think the intent of the original post was to differ with those who think BP is going to turn it around now that some of the old Cabela's folks are supposedly at the helm. Regardless of who is in charge, it's a dying brand and another victim of the demise of the traditional brick and mortal retail model.
Not everyone is Cabelas hateful
Hate BP for what BP did to Cabelas its impact to Sidney
lol. Cabela's hater do you really think anyone in their right mine don't know you posted the previous. lol. so full of hate. do you ever get tired of your hate for Cabelas and Sidney Nebraska?

They will rue the day they got rid of me!
