Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

How many are leaving on their own?

Since the whole fraud report came out, how many have already decided to leave on their own before it's too late?

I'll admit, I haven't been too active in looking for a new job because I figured if I'm laid off, I'll have severance to fall back on.

Not anymore. I think from this point on, severance is a pipe dream. Time to dust off that resume...

Way too soon to just jump ship but not unnecessary to grab a life jacket before they are all gone. For now, I’ll just stand ready.

Get out the market is good right now. I don’t care if you are over 50. I just landed a job at R and I”m 57, pay is much higher than GE and they are hiring like mad.

I left on my own back in August 18. That voluntary layoff was too good to pass up and I wanted to secure my next career job while the ding dongs up at GE weren't all gunning for the same jobs. I'm pretty happy 1 year later. Life is better after GE!

Maybe it's not fraud. Just plain, old-fashioned incompetence.

Counting on severance package is a bad strategy. Why would that effect you anyway. If you want to leave start looking now. But the fraud allocation is BS. GE is not going under!
