If you're GOM stop complaining that you are guaranteed jobs. If you wanted to leave anyways dont complain that you are getting 20k less then you wanted. The complaint list seems never ending
You can still be excited to work with the Legacy Anadarko folks. Just like the Oxy board, many of the posts are made by people that are no longer with the company. Keep in mind that some of the people posting my not even work for Anadarko or Oxy. Some folks just like to stir the pot.
I am hearing APC employees are having to interview for OXY positions. Could someone please explain this more? Why? Ie if APC employee elects not to take VSP why not roll their position into the asset that’s now OXY? If you are in the Mozambique group that’s being sold to Total (which doesn’t seem to have been finalized yet) do you have to apply for and interview for an OXY position? If you are in Delaware-Permian are you being rolled into OXY or have to apply and interview? A lot of this is confusing and am hearing various scenarios. Thank you.
The GOM isnt complaining, they are very fortunate to have guarenteed jobs, even if oxy sold them off they would still have jobs and even if the cycle continues. They feel horrible that some employees will possible lose their jobs and their family will suffer. Everyone knows oxy messed up by over paying for the company.
The few APC folks I have worked with were very professional and nice to work with. Their situation is tough and I hope everyone could get what they want. When the dust settles I look forward to working with my new co-workers and we can get started moving things forward and making this deal work. Good luck to everyone with Anadarko and Oxy. There are a lot of changes coming on both sides, if we work together it will be a great company.

@dzt: keep in mind it costs more to get rid of a legacy APC employee with CoC than an OXY employee with basic severance.
We overpaid for the assets, not the people. You’ll soon see when we drastically cut the legacy Anadarko workforce in the next couple of months. You’d better go find a suitable soup kitchen for you and your family.
@hka - If we're all incompetent savages, then why did you overpay for us? Why did you elect to give us a huge increase in all of our stock, pay expensive packages to so many of us, and then continue to pay those who are kept high salaries so we can sit around and do the bare minimum? Why did you incur so much debt that you've lost your margin of error to be a successful company, while we all have 3 year's of protection against layoffs and a downturn? I'm sorry, but who's the competent one?

On behalf of most APC folks, I'm sorry you're seeing the ugly side of peoples emotions. This whole roller coaster of acquisition has really tested people who've been on the ride for the last few years since layoffs.
Most of us are good hardworking people who are very eager for some sort of stability and answers on our future.
Keep the emotion out of it everyone is making a business decision for their household

Just as greedy? Because if you stopped getting paid tomorrow you'd continue to show up for work, right? Get a life you loser. Working for Oxy is no different than any other company. It's a simple transaction: the company's money for our pain, misery, and suffering.

Ha ha ha..Oxy not realizing that they have to actually entice APC employees to want to be at Oxy..which they are not doing at all. Get used to it..it’ll be a long weary road.
