I feel like a lot of people are always thinking about quitting their jobs, but how many people are actually out there submitting applications and doing interviews? If you left Devon, where would you like to work, or what would you rather do, or where would you rather move?

There are a lot of opportunities outside of the industry right here in OKC that pay very well or better. Raises exist as do bonuses but not so much in the world of stock grants (but with such a sinking stock who cares???). You are actually valued for your work and diversity of experience you bring to the table. Don’t miss the constant environment of fear, management politics and silent disappearances. Not for a second. Hey, when are those windows getting fixed anyway??
10zbobdl-2abp, you talking about it more than once confirms that the shoe fits you.
yup. downvotes confirm it.
phuckups are anxious to find somebody else to blame for problems of their own making, and they hate to be reminded of it.
it's easier to blame a scapegoat for your own failures than it is to admit to yourself that you're a phuckup
They get the job done fast and cheap because they cut corners and use c-ap materials.
Well it is really quite simple, and as the words of a very wise ex-devonite often said, “What you allow, is what will continue”.
You have to make your own tracks in life. Simply b–ching about it won’t quite cut the lobe.
Comment on illegal immigrants is weird. Honestly, I’d take a bunch of hard working illegal immigrants over lazy a– Oklahoma red necks any day. Have you tried hiring a contractor in this city??? As a rule of thumb I only hire Latinos, they get the job done fast, well, and at a good price.
Nice try, JH. We know it’s you.
Definitely looking and have had a few interviews. Would love a severance package, but will not hesitate for a second if I get the right offer.
Most who aren't ACTIVELY looking have a resume ready and have looked on websites to see what is out there. Many have their hopes pinned on getting a good separation package or being brought into the company that buys Devon.
@10zbobdl-qhe, Denver is no longer a good place to be. Very high cost of living, over populated and it's a sanctuary city overrun with illegals from south of the border. Also, I agree with you regarding a federal job, but not a state or city job. State and city jobs are the worst and believe it or not, people actually get fired from those jobs.
Move to Denver and work for a smaller company. I also think I would enjoy a government job (state or federal). After everything we have been through I am burned out. Just want a steady pay check for a 40 hour a week job where I like my co-workers and live somewhere that offers out door activities.... but that combination doesn’t really seem to exist. Most opportunities I see are in Houston and (as crazy as it sounds) don’t sound as stable as Devon.
