Symantec to Lay off 4,200

Here is the math: 10,700-4,000-2,500=4,200

Here is how it adds up: 10,700 Employees today - 4,000 moving to BCOM - 2,500 in Consumer = 4,200 without positions (all will be laid off)

Just a quick update on this. Art mentioned that the 4000 number, basically doesn't mean sh–. As that is what Broadcom is contractually obliged to take in, without having to pay the rest of severance. If they want to only hire 2000 out of the 4000, out of business necessity, they will simply have to pay the remaining 2000's severance instead of Symantec.
