Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Recently heard that former employees that were laid off are not eligible for rehire

Wonder about the reasoning/motivation for that? I know someone who was laid off this year and has applied for 2-3 jobs and has NOT received ANY response despite being well-qualified and having a successful 10+ year record at Teradata for performing the same type of job.

What could be the rationale for not even interviewing experienced individuals with an established successful record at Teradata?

I do know of one person from product management who was let go, and was desperate, so a few months later her went back to TD. However, he didn’t return to his old role or even PM, but to Product Support - the first role he had at TD, and a role he loathed (c-appy hours, c-appy pay, and now a much c-appier company).

This is most companies' policy: not to rehire or rehire as a contractor for 1/2 off

You know the answer.

Incompetence on at least one side?

I know people who went back. ( why?)
