Anyone else feeling like the whole shake-up with Go-To-Market was also a forced effort to rid the company of highly successful and very well paid 40+ something employees? I have noticed the corporate effort around our intern program and the accelerated bridge changes. Maybe it is paranoia and the sad reality that over a decade of service and success is now being determined by consultants sitting in a room who dismissed the importance of relationships with clients thinking the Staples name alone will make them buy. It takes more than a rebranded Staple, a magazine and rookie or lesser capable sales people to deliver results.

It is extremely difficult & corp lawyers know how to rig the demographics to avoid getting caught. Doesn't make it any less obvious or reprehensible. Paraphrasing the great bard, "1st thing we do, k–l ALL the lawyers"

just like the vermin running Staples? How naive do you think folks would be dismissed with severance if they could be let go for cause?
Age, color and gender are all challenges being a Staples employee. Not to mention the inability to take action on removing incompetence within the ranks.

your observations are absolutely correct those in control have no desire to make the business succeed.
Get out of retail. When I was laid off in Jan 2018 I went to one of the largest banks in the US. Much better atmosphere. With the Private Equity firms destroying retail companies it is not a good place to be.
