The numbers I've seen mentioned here range from 2000 to 4000, which is a significant difference. Does anybody know the actual number? Or will we just have to guess until all the layoffs are finally done - whenever that might be in the following four+ months?

3500-4000
how do we let more people know about this site
maybe someone will chime in with an accurate number
This is what I have heard as well.
Including corporate (shared services) heads there will be 4000 Broadcom and 2500 Consumer. Out of 10700 remaining.
So to answer your question at least 4200 RIFs left to go
From our dir, the total employee number now is 12k, BCOM will offer 4k people. CBU will offer 2600 jobs and now only 2100 employees, so will hire 500 more.
Well, considering new news from all hands calls, especially with the tidbit of "No remote employees" "Relocate or resign w/o severance", that will bring the number higher. The total head count will fluctuate based on open positions being filled in markets where physical sites are, but the total number RIF'd will be higher.
Norton:Lifelock aims for 2.500 employees (from all-hands on Monday, Aug 12) and Broadcom will offer 4.000 employees a job (According to Wednesdays all-hands with Art). The remainder will be let go. Depending who you believe, we had at the beginning of Q1 11.700 employees of which 1.000 have been made redundant last Friday.
You will never know , until you know.
It's all TOP SECRET !
