BHGE started a big layoff several months ago before anyone even knew, by letting go of all of our Facility Repair and Maintenance employees.
They (BHGE) didn't make it known until the last minute because they didn't want the shareholders to freak out that they were so desperate to reduce operational cost.....
So we all got laid off and were offered jobs (new employment) with CBRE, the new management company for R&M.
Several people were not offered jobs and what was left is what you see today in the Houston area facilities.
CBRE said that they could reduce R&M cost by 15% no matter what....
15% cost reduction equates to either people/assets being reduced (cut/laid off) or work simply not being performed....
CBRE employees that were hired to do R&M work and that replaced the laid off BHGE R&M employees are inexperienced/not licensed and not certified to perform daily R&M tasks to the facilities.
Good luck to the 15% cost reduction.............
More layoffs to come for sure!!!!!!!

The way I see it, those damn so called R&M employees didn't do dilly SHEEET anyhow.... they always called contractors... All they could do is clean up water, leaves and litter from the property.
They were very good at cleaning up spills and re-arranging the meeting rooms. But, Asking them to fix a actual maintenance problem... well, they would scram out and call a contractor.
Not sure about the 15% cost saving that you are referring to, because there is no way that will happen due to the fact that they always have relied on contractors to do the repair work.
So unless this, CBRE, has actual maintenance people that can actually fix something, good luck with the 15% cost reduction....
