Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

Checked My Stub...

With the new pay structure starting on July 15, I was told originally that our first paycheck following that pay period (Aug 2nd) would be reflected on the next check (the 16th) and that the necessary adjustments would be made to round you up if you were below the hours/targets they set. Checked today, still no adjustments.

It’s going to s— getting a real job, never will I have such an easy job. 70k a year working 40 hours a week. Clocking in from my bed. Never checking in loads. The best thing is that these r—d dsl wanna be managers with no skills have to get real jobs. No one is going to hire a 55 year old man that’s sits in his office that doesn’t know how to operate a computer. That’s who they hired at this company and that’s why it went down. You can’t allow drivers to get 20 hours of overtime a week on a 35hour job. Paying dsls to talk on their phones all day with company cars was never going to last. They could have made this thing work with getting rid of half of the staff no dsls and route properly. Now they have to pay us 25k just to go away. Great business model.

Ive only been with nestle for 4 yrs but if your honest and hard working and have integrity you can take pride in no matter what you do. Dont let that jerk rile you, everybody is a tough guy behind a computer. Your job/career doesn’t define who you are. Sad people make judgments about people they dont know. Everybody is uneasy about losing their jobs and having to start again, guess thats why they lash out. Good luck to you and your family sir

Ive been in dsd for over 35 yrs in a variety of roles and enjoyed it, an yes, my parents (were) proud of me, but i will adapt and find something else, dont know why people get so negative and personal on here, we are all in the same boat, so why make it sound that some are better than others? Good luck to everyone

Well who’s laughing now. You should always be trying to learn new skills. I guess you got lazy when you thought you made it as a pizza sales guy. Nestle doesn’t sales positions. They just have guys that stock and order. If you think you are a real sales guy why don’t you get a job in sales. Good luck you lazy pizza guys.

And what field are you in now dippy? During pizza only days was making 80k way more than friends with college degrees and I enjoyed it. Love it when pompous fools sit in glass houses

Why would anyone of us want to do dsd again. It’s a dying business model and more company are get rid of dsd. You have to be a f—ing r—d to stay in the dsd game!!!! Just my thoughts. If you want to avoid being getting fired again stay away from dsd

Nestle used to be straight commissioned as were alot of companies, but some knuckleheads in cal some yrs ago sued nestle saying they weren’t paid ot over 40. Commissioned never were in industry, so nestle just took target pay and put that crazy M.I.T math to it to come up with the same total. So be careful what you wish for... you just might get it. Just give me my money and let me wash my hands of this mess. And by the way, if your thinking of going to frito lay, they have the same pay structure, all the higher ups at nestle are ex chip people, thats where we got vrot and 3/2 mixed format and 7 day work c-ap.

i agree its a legal platform they use . but i know for a fact keebler still was sued for v rot and overtime and so was kraft on the biscuit side but they never went to court. my neighbor worked for keebler and recieved over 17000 in compensation for the overtime and v rot issues they had. but that being said make copies of all the paper work u receive in the severance packages. i really dont believe nestle is going to try to screw us. giving us 40% retention is very generous compare to the industry average of @15%. they needed us to stay for a successful transition.

Once you sign a severance package, that releases nestle from any liable. Why do you think they want you to wait 10days before your last day to send it in. Theres a reason you have to sign , not just work your last day and wait for it. Its a binding contract between you and them. You get the money, they get released. They have high dollar legal team.

Our commission pay plus vrot s—ed. You can never figure out the Chinese math pay system . I hope a class action for back gets filed . Working thru lunch and breaks just to finish the routes under 12 and 14 hour rules.

With the loss of business in some market sounds like you could be working 60 hours and being paid minimum wage basically

I would think/ hope that the 40% retention bonus is based off total earnings minus any pto pay or contest payouts hey could actually ask HR. Don’t expect your dsl to know more than you

They dont explain well, but if you cant tell the difference between next pay period vs next paycheck it will be confusing. If pay cycle ends in a sat, and payroll is sent out on wed, it would be hard to review all those time cards and commission reports in 2 days. Wait and see , then you can cry foul if wrong. Just because you don’t understand doesnt mean they’re screwing you,

save everything do a daily diary if needed your hours can be dug up by the d.o.t. if needed. i would not trust them in any way. we have not lost any stores until the 17th of this month so i am assuming the paycheck will reflect the differences on the 13th of sept. but the 40% retention bonus might not reflect the true up portion of our income. so the original numbers are probably not right. also heard the severance packages that we are supposed to send in after our 60 day notice cant be mailed before the 50th day to ensure expedient payouts. i would think the sooner the easier it would be.

You people sound like you have never been screwed by Nestle's c-appy accounting. You will be lucky to get any adjustments to your pay no matter what you were told. From their B.S. bucket system to their ridiculously confused way of paying commissioned employees, they sit back and laugh at how you saps drink their Kool aid and believe what they tell you. What do you think now?? That there will be some 400 jobs created? More lies. Just ride the good food good life d—o until the end and pray they actually give you half of what they told you you were going to get in severance.

I cant explain any better than that. When did op start losing stores? Would be easier to explain if i knew

I agree with that but I thought this check would reflect the money lost in the previous check, then till the end.

It is confusing ( especially for commissioned) from what i was told, july 15 only means something if you had sales/ hours reduction due to losing stores. If you didnt lose stores til this last pay period,(which some did) then your check this fri wont reflect the adjustment. It will be on the following check. Hope that helps.

Two periods behind? I looked at my check for this Friday and it isn’t what I was thinking. Everyone else I talk to says the same.

Its two pay periods behind I'm hearing. If we would've gotten this in writing perhaps people wouldn't be as confused. Very poor communication. If the next check isn't adjusted I'm thinking quite a few people will quit
