Roseville, CA Fry's ... It's sad

Been shopping here since it opened.

Always thought we (local Sacramentans) were lucky to have 2 Fry's in our area (Sac and Roseville), but recently going in for a standard RCA cable to find baron shelving and a stock room of empty racks, I could tell it was a matter of time before it all crumbles.

It is unfortunate since this store is relatively new and all "themed" unlike the Incredible Universe (Northgate) store is.

Was a wonderful grand opening but will be sad to see the end.

There has to be one place left we can nerd out in besides ordering everything off Amazon, right?

I mean, sometimes looking at it and physically holding the item is paramount...Although, many times you can not beat the Amazon machine's prices.

Typically 1/2 or greater in savings.

Argh, will be sad to see Frys put to the pasture.

Roseville looks like the final day of a liquidation sale, and right before Christmas! Nothing there but weird little things, all overpriced. Employees deny store is closing. One cashier for 18 registers and I was the only customer, using up the last $13 on a gift card. It was a really nice store. Going the way of radio shack...

I was in the Roseville,Ca. store last Friday 8/6 and many, many shelves were empty all over the store. I couldn't even get a 9 volt adapter. I asked the person who checks receipts at the door if they were going out of business. He said "Oh no" but he didn't sound like he believed himself. So sad to see.

It has been ALONG time coming for this store....way TOO big to keep anything stocked. Have hardly been in there in years and while car was in Hyundai for service next door... figured I would check in for old times sake..and, oh boy!! Was it ever sad... EMPTY!! No merchandise...few employees....and NOO customers!! On a Saturday evening? IT was bad then and that had to be nearly two years ago now. The store appears to now be closed ..and guess what..nobody noticed!! I cant find a single news article or public announcement. OUCH..... Well, it was fun while it lasted, but we knew this was coming for some time now. The place had not aged well and di not keep up with the times in any real way to compete.... Beware..the coming retail apocolypse!!

The Renton, WA Fry's is the same deal – lots of empty shelves, staff I talked to said "Well, it gets slow after Christmas" (yes, they actually said 'Christmas'). Hadn't been to the store in 3-4 months, it was even emptier yesterday.

I think they're done for. Been shopping at Fry's since they started selling computer chips next to the Fritos in the 1980s. Even the Fry's employee usual zombie look has been replaced with something that looks a little more . . . apocalyptic. And no one at the door checked my receipt, it is the end times!

These stores are so poorly staffed now and there is hardly any security. If they still have product to sell half of it will be running out a fire exit while no one is watching.

I was in the Fry's store in Oregon.
Almost no staff on the floor. Inventory way down.
They are spreading inventory along the length of the shelf to keep the place from looking like a burned out hulk.

Whe asked, the staff has a nonsense story about the "summer doldrums".

I'm about to give up. Ads say "in store or online" but there is nothing to be had.

I'm probably going to stop visiting. Unlikely they will be around for returns if something goes wrong.

too bad.

The emptied the back stock all to the floor in order to fill things out. If you look around online, it looks like they have a poor payment history with various vendors, so they're not getting new stock or are only receiving it if they pay for it first.

Went looking for a laptop yesterday (8/11/19) and all they had was refurbished on display. Absolutely no stock in the back. Employees must be sworn to silence about closure. Too bad, always a fun place to shop. No need for going out of business sale, not much left anyways.

I was there a few days ago and saw some of the empty shelves filled with 12 and 24 packs of soda.

I've also noticed over the past few months, they haven't really received any new inventory. It's the same old stuff that's been sitting there. I used to stop in there every few days, but now, every few weeks, yet still no new product (MAYBE a few token items here and there). As a customer that regularly purchased from them, I have little to no motivation to go there anymore, which now amounts to looking at the same stuff I've seen over and over.

Feel bad for the employees more than the company. There are some nice people there.
