Does Broadcom allow employees such as product managers to work entirely remotely?

I work from home all the time some weeks 4-5 days. Nobody cares. It’s all empty threats
HR is basically non-existent but they do have one person on site at my location whose job seems to be to tell people no. They denied my Americans with Disabilities Act request to wfh. They told me that it would be "impossible" to allow it. I also had a coworker who developed severe epilepsy after a car accident; he also filed an ADA request to wfh because he no longer felt safe driving to and from work and they told him he'd just have to take a cab to work. Then the pandemic hit and everyone but the factory workers worked from home. And then all other tech companies extended generous wfh policies. And then Hock Tan made people go back in the offices in shifts for basically no reason, when they still had kids at home b/c schools are closed or are half online/half in-person. There's a real old-school butts in seats as a metric for performance at this company that seems incredibly outdated and short-sighted. If you want to wfh, I'd keep looking elsewhere.
Hilarious! Hock isn’t monitoring badge ins! My entire team including management “works from home” on Friday. In quotes because nobody is actually working. They might as well take the day off because they are essentially unreachable. Their weekend started Thursday COB. HR doesn’t care. It’s an empty threat/rumor. It wouldn’t surprise me if the last poster was Broadcom HR trying to enforce a policy they simply cannot enforce. Good luck ;) oh and I’m working from home tomorrow too !
Working remote requires the approval from Hock. People work from home but have an office in a building. If caught, you and your manager can be terminated. After one acquisition, Hock had IT pull all badge-ins for buildings to see if people were coming in, especially on Fridays. Not sure if it is still happening.
My first and second level manager work from home all the time.

WFH employees will be Day 1 RIF. Possible get a transition but most were layed off Day1.

Not true for all departments. Some like you working with those related to your product.
What I can tell you is that most wfh employee from the former CA were either asked to report to an office or layed off.
In some cases they wanted to check how close you are to a nearest office. Some were never asked to report to an office. (So not all were asked uniformly.) On my team there are multiple WFH.
Broadcom removed the remote office worker allowance which paid for office supplies.
I'm sorry, but this is flat out untrue, at least the "based in India" part. The ITC has actually lost a about 45% of the staff, including many PMs. Where as the some groups have been hiring POs/PMs in the US. It all depends on your product and how successful it is in the market, or the potential for success. As for WFH, that is pretty much correct. Broadcom does not like 100% remotes, especially in R&D. For sales and pre-sales they don't seem to care, but for direct R&D positions they want you in 'an office'. It doesn't have to be a core office, but at least an office somewhere. It is kind of ridiculous in this day and age, especially when you have a single person working by themselves in an otherwise totally unrelated office while the rest of the team is somewhere else, but it is what it is. As long as they keep paying me and my RSUs are this high I'll put up with it.
There is no working from home policy unless authorized from top managment. What I can tell you is that most wfh employee from the former CA were either asked to report to an office or layed off. Only very few vital technical resources were retained. As for Product managers, nearly all product managers were replaced within a year, I would look for a new position unless you are based in India.
