Best Carepass Pitch?

Give me your best carepass pitches people. I'm tired of getting no thanks all the time. My DL is not happy because my store is doing so poorly with enrollments.

I was hired as a CASHIER, not a glorified ACO baby sitter and certainly not a sales person for Care Pass. If I wanted a sales job I would go get one. I'm sick & tired of getting sh-t from customers because I cannot ring them up. This IS NOT customer service, just a burden on our customers. I will be giving my notice, this is BS. It's really too bad, I like working there.

People make excuses for not selling CP . It’s part of our job. If you ask every customers you will see it’s not hard to sell CP. IF you’re not making your goal it’s because you are not asking every customer.

Don't get me wrong. I hate working at CVS, but to all the people saying that's not my job, it is absolutely your job. You work for CVS. Your job is to do whatever they tell you to do, as long as it isn't illegal. And honestly it's not hard to sell 1 or 2 a day and that's all we're really required to sell. If you're required to sell more it's because you haven't sold any and you're really far behind for the year and need to catch up.

Again, I hate CVS. There's so many bad things they do but this isn't a bad program. It actually benefits a lot of people and not everyone is going to get it but what does it honestly hurt to say, would you like to save $10 today?

Some of you just want to complain just to complain. There's so many other things to complain about the lack of hours we get, the horrible pos system, the lack of support, THE HORRIBLE POS SYSTEM...I mean it's really sh*tty....but carepass...it's simple and easy. Every retail store is pushing some type of card to increase their business. Maybe retail isn't for some of you and bring on the down votes I know most of you hate hearing the truth anyways!

"If you can’t sell that offer to at least one person you need to find a new line of work." Sir, we are cashiers getting paid minimum wage, we did not get hired on as salespeople. One of the most annoying parts of the job is having to sell carepasses. Getting warned about write ups if we don't sell enough makes the job unnecessarily stressful.

I did 11 in one day and can usually get 6 or 5 sometimes as well. It’s all about how you ask them, what they’re buying and stuff like that. “I can save you $10, if you’re interested” and they’re usually hooked from there. I’ll mention the $5 a month lash and show them the number to cancel so that they still save $10 on that day. It got me employee of the month for my store.

Tell them Carepass pays for itself! $10 a month in EB, only $5 a month. You still come out on top $5!

I enrolled 14 customers in two days. At a non 24 hour CVS.

It’s all about buttering it up. I don’t turn into a robot and list everything CP offers. I’d simply say,” you want me to take $10 off your purchase today? For free!” 8/10 times I get a yes. While they are going through the prompts on the screen I mention the more flashy benefits. 20% CVS brand OTC and grocery and RX delivery. Just to show that you can stretch the savings besides the $10 credit to make them feel more secure in the decision of signing up. I ALWAYS finish saying there is NO OBLIGATION to stay signed up, after I finishing ringing them up. I highlight the website and number on the back of the booklet, and of course, thank them for signing up and trying it out.

I don’t think there is a “fool proof” way of getting people to sign up. Just ask, if one says no there’s another who will say yes.

I hate asking for carepasses, people get mad because we ask over and over. I've noticed some of our regulars don't come in nearly as much as they had. I might get one a week, and the most i've gotten in a week was 12, that was one time. I'm always getting no thanks, maybe later, i already have one, i don't have a debit card, i only pay by checks, i don't shop here enough, I don't like automatic payments because I can't keep track of them and my account overdraws, My wife or husband has it, my mom has it, Enough is enough, CVS needs to offer it for free or get rid of it.

my goal is to get at least 50% off using cvs coupons w/o Carepass, but still shop around for sales. I noticed that the vitamins are on sale all the time. The pitch every time shopping is getting old, so a lot is shopping elsewhere. CVS has lost the neighborhood friendly type feel and finding even supermarkets are cheaper

The care pass can be done ! People will enroll trust me I’ve sold over 800 so I know this works ! You just have to tell them how much it benefits them because it does it gives them 10 dollars off there purchase right away does not cost anything today! Then they get 20 percent off all to most of cvs health care products name them eg cough med . Vitamins , first aid etc ! 1 to 2 days free shipping on pr-scrip-ions and no minimum frees shipping when ordering on line from
Cvs .com! But the best most exciting part is not today but the following month it debits or credits what ever they feel comfortable using 5 dollars a month ! But not shortly after the new month begins the get 10 dollars back in extra bucks! And they don’t print out nor does the 20 percent as soon as we scan there card it recognizes there a care pass member and automatically takes the 20 percent off the cvs items in the program ! And if there 10
Is there we can automatically apply it!

Ive been trying different things out.

This one is "I have an offer you that will end up paying itself. If you sign up for our carepass program, you will get a free $10 in extra bucks each month. First four weeks are free and after you can either cancel or continue with the program for $5 a month." It looks like it long, but it's not.

Then if they are questioning or considering, just say "So instead of the total being XX it would be XX with the carepass. You would also get 20% of CVS Healthcare products if you were to sign up as well". Sold a few more than usual saying this.

What really frustrates me about this whole pitch is the steps we need to go through just to get the customer signed up. By the time they finish all of it, they are like "what the H-ll else you want?!" I feel like it's just TOO many steps just to get them signed up. I believe (at least for me), this may be one of the reasons why the associates don't want to go through it all. I normally state to the customer "Would you like to save $10 on your purchase today?" and if they have any CVS products I'll throw in the "we can also take 20% off of those as well" oh and just to sugar coat it a little... add in the "plus free shipping on your RX items" all for the initial payment of $5 a month or a savings of $1 per month if you pay the $48 up front" GOOD LUCK!

As a CVS employee I resent having to sell anything at the cash register which interferes with communication and forces other customers to wait. Most people have trouble remembering their phone number and spend to much time struggling with coupons and deceptive signage. And then Im supposed to explain/sell a Carepass? Interrupts the flow, makes me look like a cheap salesperson and I’m looking for another job where I can just be a friendly cashier

The ridiculous process, routing and rerouting to cancel the CarePass is so manipulative. BTW if you don't get your capital letters right, you won't find the sight to cancel. Then when I did get to sight, before I was able to fill in the "sign in", a message said, "You won't be able to cancel this because you are not the primary cardholder". #1 I am the cardholde
#2 How did they know who I was; I couldn't sign in!!
I am done with them.

I'm a CVS shopper. I just wanted to add that CVS marketing strategy is awful for this program. They should have invested more in commercials and billboards promoting it. Nobody wants to be harassed for their debit card information at an overpriced quick stop pharmacy. By the time we get to the front to check out , we are rolling our eyes at the ridiculous prices. Do I have the carepass, you might ask? Yes I do. Why? Because I have a child with a chronic illness and a c-appy vehicle. So, having the option of being able to get her meds delivered is why I signed up. I saw it on a friend's instagram page and went in to sign up. If I was making a trip to get my daughter's meds, I would have declined (at that moment in time because of me rushing to get home). There are 3 types of shoppers at CVS (from my perspective) The pharmacy ONLY shopper , the stop and grabber/last minute shopper with money , and the couponer (not the extreme rude one's😱) who can stack mgf coupons and cvs coupons to get a reasonable price. The free online delivery is b.s. and the 20% off on ONLY cvs brands, that can't be on sale to use the percent off . 20% off is usually just $2..ugh. Carepass is a good option for seniors and the housebound. Only issue is most don't understand or use online services. That $10 would go unused if they can't get out to use it. Honestly, unless you catch something on sale the $10 is pointless. The cashiers shouldn't have to promote the Carepass at all. People like to buy/eat/join with a visual image , asking them at checkout isn't the best option.

“I’m not sure if you’ve heard about this yet, but we are doing something new with the ExtraCare card. For $5 a month, you can upgrade your account. The upgrade gives you $10 in ExtraBucks every month, so it pays for itself. If you upgrade today, I can give you the first month free, but you still get the $10 ExtraBucks and can use them on the stuff you are buying right now. Can I go ahead and take care of that upgrade for you?”

First off... it’s not my job to sell a program to people. My job is to sell the actual products in the store. If CVS wants to sell this then it needs to be on them in the big house not us. I’m sorry I’m tired of literally asking everyone to buy something or donate to someone or thing. And to the guy that keeps on saying dude. You must be a DL or a SM because an actual shift manger or cashier wouldn’t say anything you did. And if you really think about it you are paying $5 dollars a month for $10 ex buck. Then you are really get $5 cause you already paid for$5’ of the $10. This is BS all over the board. And about the $3 you get for someone buying the carepass. Did you not think that your going to get taxed on that $3. So now you will be put into Different tax bracket. And pay taxes on the $3 you make on every customer.

Would you like to upgrade your Extracare account to a Carepass account? You'll get $10 in extrabucks monthly, 20% off on CVS brand items, FREE next day shipping from CVS online orders, FREE next day delivery on most perscriptions and 24/7 live pharmacist support. It only costs $48/ year and the first month is FREE!

(Customer questions pricing: $48 / year however your getting back $120 in EB. You're also going to save 20% on CVS brand items. With cough and cold season coming up you can save on every visit!!!)

(Customer questions most pr-scrip-ions : Talk about heat sensitive scripts not narcs. Why come out in the bad weather? Have it delivered.)

You have to have some excitement in your voice.

I changed my approach last week- and since then in one week I sold 4 ;) carepass enrollments . I go by what the customer is purchasing and bribe them - I simply say - I can take 10 dollars off your order today - I also dont just push the rx delivery but the free delivery on products to your door . Yesterday , a Customer had 40 dollars worth of cvs brand asprin - I enrolled them first , then rang their order and they were very happy they saved the 20 percent off and another 10 dollars that they earned from enrolling . My issue was I would have had 2 more , but one they could not use cash so the register would not take it - 2nd was no valid email .. so I lost 2 sales ....I am being bribed to push , and I inturn bribe the customers

cvs forces employees to enroll carepass

by
| | Reply
Post ID: @bjmv+10sZS1Xj

To the people saying it’s not a big deal to force employees to sign up, consider this, if they chose the monthly they have to make sure they know what day it comes out and have the money in their bank account. Banks love auto payments because of the amount of overdraft fees they produce. It’s not rocket science, but nobody is perfect either, people will forget and be low on money. Aside from that cvs is basically giving the employee discount to the public now.

That last post hit the nail right on the head! We’re already badgering our customers with 21 questions at the register, and now sign up for this $48 plan? And news flash it’s actually $60 if you do the monthly $5 option. $5 a month x 12 months = $60. Some people might not have 50-60 dollars to spend.

Post ID: @3vxg+10sZS1Xj

Might be easier if the customer wasn't prompted to add an email, opt in for text messages and to donate. By the time all that is done they are so p-ss-d off and just want to pay and get out of the store. Hours cut and long lines at the registers also doesn't help.

To the person who said:

"To the guy who says employees shouldn’t enroll you are an id–t. They are paying $48 but getting $120 back in return. As an employee I’m sure they spend more than that in one year anyways. It would be stupid not for employees to join".

That is a mo–nic statement. Who cares about the savings. It's about the freedom of choice here. How can you justify, forcing employees to do anything, savings or not? And besides, you don't know each employees life or financial situation. What if they don't use or need the benefits to achieve $120.00 in savings?

I am not sure what the corporate lawyers are thinking when they will be served a huge lawsuit coming from the employees being forced to buy the carepass plan since customers are not interested in it. How can you force employees making 11 dollars an hour to buy carepass a 48 dollars plan ? A cascade coming from regional to dL to store managers stating it is not an option for employees not to enroll. When you question your dL explaining that your cashier has to work almost 6 hours to enroll getting the 48 dollars after paying the taxes and medical , you get told by her that this is what the area president and their seniors want forcing it on rds. She told us that employees need to believe in it, enroll in it ,mso they can sell it. As manager, I am in the store at least 5 days a week same as my pharmacists. We do not need the delivery, we do get already 30% off on cvs brand , I can ask my pharmacist for the info and do not need the 24/7 .... why are we being forced to spend 48 dollars that is a huge amount for some employees who when yearly reviews come they get 2 to 3 % yearly increase , a 25 cents or few cents or nothing if you are veteran manager like me reached the max few years ago. I follow the rules and work hard to enroll customers in every program we have but hearing that I have to force my employees to buy the plan to make the numbers for the region is a hard pill to swallow and do not need it on ready fill for all the programs coming down the road. Thoughts anyone?
