Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Is there a way to know my store is doomed?

If anybody here has worked in a store that previously closed - any chance you can share with us if there were any indicators that the store was closing? I'm just wondering if there is a way to know a store will be on the list ahead of time, just to know what to look for and to be prepared.

Thanks in advance!

Your store might be on it's way out.. Start looking for a job now. Don't wait to see unless you close to retirement..

Our store began cutting hours,.
There were fewer items on the shelves and the holes did not get filled
Pharmacists were told to deliberately encourage customers to go to other stores to get pr-scrip-ions filled and to take their time filling pr-scrip-ions.
Services were cut( lawn care, window cleaning services, etc.) and vendors began to not show up to take or fill orders.
Hope this helps.

  1. Is your store underperforming? Meaning sales and foot traffic.
  2. Is the property on a lease? How many years left on the lease?
  3. How many hours does your store have each week?
